I founded Check & Balance Business Solutions, LLC in January 2020 realizing a dream that I set out to reach ten years prior. Almost twelve years in to my corporate accounting career, gaining a tremendous amount of knowledge through hands on learning, I decided to return to school to obtain my Masters Degree in Accounting and set out on my journey to one day have my own accounting business. My vision was to provide excellent and accurate accounting and human resource services for businesses that have a need for an experienced bookkeeper or corporate controller at the part-time level, as well as for businesses that are looking to better their financial systems in order to improve efficiencies and certainty of data. Accurate financial records are vital to the growth and stability of businesses, and a lack of a skilled person in the accounting role could be causing more harm to your business then you may realize. Accounting maintenance and human resource compliance can be quite intimidating, time consuming and even confusing at times. By taking that piece off your shoulders, my goal is to help you continue to grow, be profitable and compliant, while letting you focus on operating your day to day business.
My background includes over 22 years of hands on business accounting and operations experience ranging from full processing payables and receivables, AIA contracts and billings, job cost administration, WIP reconciliation and reporting, overhead and project budget creation and maintenance, internal control structuring and implementation, preparation and publishing of financial reports, filings for corporate, sales and payroll taxes, leading accounting departments and building teams, complete payroll processing, union payroll reporting, benefit coordination and human resource management.
Starting in the accounts payable department for a concrete cutting company in 1999 I worked my way up the ranks at different companies in the construction, wholesale distribution and service industries always eager to learn more. In 2013 I was promoted to Corporate Controller with a well known Massachusetts General Contractor in the commercial construction industry while finishing my Bachelors degree. I continued my education obtaining my Masters in Accounting from SNHU and continued my path towards realizing the goal of starting Check & Balance Business Solutions, LLC.
My experience and education has provided me with the detailed knowledge of the accounting and operations process and how each plays a role in affecting bottom line results.
